Trump Quickly Escorted Backstage
Former President Donald Trump was rushed off the stage at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday after shots were fired near the event.
According to witnesses, Trump was about 400 to 500 feet away from the suspected gunman at the time of the shooting. The former president was quickly escorted backstage by security personnel.
An aerial map of the event shows the stage located near the center of the Butler Farm Show Grounds. The suspected gunman was reportedly located about 120 to 150 meters away from the stage.
An ABC News journalist who was in the crowd said she heard multiple gunshots ring out. She said the crowd panicked and began running for cover.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. No injuries have been reported.
